Finca Sajorí main goal is to serve as a Sustainability Center where people can come and learn about Sustainability and Conservation practices. We want to foster curiosity with the ones that we have implemented, vistors in our facilities are encouraged to interact with Bio Degrable Soaps, Compostable Toilets, Solar Energy, Nature as Engineering elements such as fences or road contention. Visitors will use rain water to bathe, and wash their hands, will be invited to eat 100% organic fruit and many other implementations that are almost transparrent to them but make a difference in our impact to the enviroment.
We want to provide comfort, education and examples so that people do feel not alienated by new practices that can benefit the environment and their communities. Most importantly by them interacting and experiencing them they will understand that it is not complicated or hard to implement them in their house and communities.
We use permaculture principles to guide how we design our facilities, housing, roads, agricultural areas and working locations.
By designing everything with environmental concience and fair trade practices it help us engage with the community with empathy and love.
As a society we can design homes to be self sustaining, tailored to our environment, temperature and conditions. We can grow our construction materials, our food and harness the energy of the elements to use to power up our homes and businesses. All we need is to learn the Permaculture principals and practices and we can reach those goals.
We have designed our properties and Farm, the infrastucture, energy and other perspectives reducing our impact to the environment. We are also working with our community towords development of economy projects using circular econoic models.
We have implementated Restaurative Agriculture principles into our operation. We are composting, creating our organic fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides from food ingredients and natural ingredients. Soil recovery using plants, agroferestry and other frameworks are part of our practices.
We are using plants as engineering elements such as privacy walls, wind protection, road landslide mitigation. For housing and infraestructure we are going to be using natural woods, bamboo and mud for construction elements in the property.
Currently we are implementing various conservation practices within the propoerty and the forrest.
